REDATOR Ben Graham Posted October 27, 2025 REDATOR Report Share Posted October 27, 2025 An explosion at an underground mine site in the far west region of New South Wales has resulted in the death of two workers, according to local reports in Australia. Emergency services were called to the site early in the morning after being told that two people, both women, had been critically injured during a workplace incident, according to police reports cited by media including ABC. One of the workers died after being brought to surface, while the other has been flown to the hospital for treatment, the police said, noting that a man had already died from the explosion before their arrival. The incident occurred at the former Endeavor silver-zinc mine located 40 km north of Cobar. The operation is currently owned by Polymetals, which bought the project in 2023 with the aim of bringing it back into production. According to the company, the mine had been in production since the early 1980s but was placed in care and maintenance five years ago.
