Bitcoin’s price is still struggling to regain its upward momentum following the establishment of a new all-time high above $111,000 last week. Today, Bitcoin trades below $106,000 with a current trading price of $105,381, marking a 1.2% increase in the past day and a 5.8% decrease from its peak. The current movement suggests a cooling-off period as traders and analysts monitor for potential market reentry points. Despite the price retreat, the mood across the market remains relatively stable, with the Crypto Fear & Greed Index still hovering in the neutral zone. This suggests that the market is yet to enter the euphoric stage typically associated with aggressive buy…

Yep, you read that right. Truth Social, the social media platform backed by Donald Trump, is diving into crypto, specifically, it wants its very own Bitcoin ETF. On June 3, NYSE Arca filed the paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list what would officially be called the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF. It’s a bold move, and one that puts Trump’s media company squarely in the middle of the crypto investment craze. But this isn’t just another ETF filing. It’s coming with some political heat, a hint of branding flair, and an eye on a fast-growing market. What’s in the Filing? NYSE Arca’s submission is basically a request to change the rules so this new E…

TRON (TRX) is seeing a continued lift in price alongside broader gains across the crypto market. As of today, TRX is trading just above $0.27, marking a 1.2% increase over the past 24 hours. The move reflects a coordinated uptick in digital asset valuations, with the global cryptocurrency market capitalization climbing nearly 1% to a current total of approximately $3.47 trillion. This price action comes as on-chain data suggests increased user engagement on the TRON network. According to recent analysis shared on CryptoQuant’s QuickTake platform, a steady rise in daily active addresses is being observed, with both the 50-day and 100-day moving averages for this metric …

Rocket Pool RPL is surging, adding 30%. Strengthening Ethereum prices played a role, but the team is also shipping updates ahead of the Saturn upgrade. Rocket Pool TVL is up 43% in one month. Will RPL break $10? Yesterday, without any apparent reason or fundamental trigger, UNI, the governance token of the major DEX Uniswap, surged above $7 before cooling off. Meanwhile, top DeFi tokens like MKR, the governance token of the Sky Protocol (formerly Maker), also climbed, posting double-digit gains. As these leading DeFi tokens rose, attention shifted to another key Ethereum player critical to decentralizing the first smart contracts platform: Rocket Pool. DISCOVER: 9+ …

Japan is gearing up to innovate and introduce robust payment systems as its economy gradually becomes cashless. Bank of Japan’s (BOJ) Executive Director Kazushige Kamiyama said that while the country does not have any firm stance on CBDCs yet, it must develop other payment options as society becomes increasingly cashless. According to an article published on 4 June 2025 by Reuters, Kamiyama said that while banknotes are still in high circulation in Japan, physical currency could see a steep decline in use going forward as Japan rapidly digitalises. “As such, Japan must consider what steps it can take now to ensure its retail settlement system is convenient, efficient, …

The Dollar index is consolidating below the 100.00 level for the second consecutive week as Tuesday’s rally in the USD was not strong enough to hold. The DXY is trading at 98.80 and hasn’t crossed above 100 this week. Between renewed menaces and the actual delay in implementing tariffs, US President Trump is making sure that the ongoing trend of USD selling doesn’t stall. The announcement in the middle of last week from the US Federal Court boosted the USD initially, though the appeal of the court decision just added to more uncertainty. Overall mixed US Data hasn't helped to add demand for the Greenback. Manufacturing PMI and JOLTS beat while ADP Employment and Service…

Silver prices soared to their highest in more than 13 years on Thursday following a technical breakout, as investors look to broaden their exposure to safe-haven assets beyond gold. Spot gold touched $36.07 an ounce in the early morning trading, the highest since February 2012, before pulling back to about $35.90 for a 2.6% daily gain. Meanwhile, the most actively traded silver contracts saw a larger jump at 4%, treading just above the $36-per-ounce level. The rally, according to analysts, was likely driven by a combination of technical momentum, improving fundamentals and broader investor interest. “After lagging behind gold for several weeks, silv…

XRP’s price action is currently exhibiting a back-and-forth pattern around $2.20, but an interesting technical analysis suggests it may soon leave this price level. A chart analysis posted by a crypto analyst on the social media platform X has given an interesting projection about XRP’s next move. By overlaying XRP’s current weekly chart with its explosive 2017 fractal, the analyst hints that the altcoin might be on the verge of a repeat performance that sends it far beyond its current price range. 2017 XRP Fractal Overlaid Technical analysis of XRP price action on the weekly timeframe reveals an interesting pattern that has been unfolding over multiple weeks. The combination of Equinox Gold (TSX, NYSE-A: EQX) and Calibre Mining (TSX: CXB) should move the new company up to the fourth largest gold producer in Canada even as it looks to trim its portfolio of non-core assets. The C$2.56 billion ($1.83 billion) all-stock deal, set to close this month, will bring to nine the number of producing mines under Equinox from the current seven, as well as Calibre’s Valentine project in Newfoundland that’s currently under construction. Calibre operates one mine in Nevada, and its three sites in Nicaragua are counted as one under the company’s hub and spoke model. Equinox will have gold reserves of about 24 million ounces. “It make…

The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) has lowered its full-year 2025 phosphate production guidance as the fertilizer giant navigates a series of operational challenges across key U.S. facilities. The revision weighed on its stock, which slipped more than 3% in Friday trading. Mosaic now expects to produce between 7.0 million and 7.3 million tonnes of phosphate this year, down from its previous guidance of 7.2 million to 7.6 million tonnes. Second-quarter phosphate sales volumes have also been scaled back to 1.5–1.6 million tonnes, compared to the earlier forecast of 1.7–1.9 million tonnes. Despite the production setback, Mosaic raised its pricing outlook for diammon…

Ethereum has experienced a sharp pullback, retracing over 10% since yesterday as the broader crypto market faced a wave of volatility. Despite the decline, bulls are showing resilience. ETH failed to break below the critical $2,300 mark and is now holding firm above $2,400, a sign that demand remains strong at current levels. Investors are watching closely as Ethereum consolidates and attempts to recover lost ground. Top analyst M-Log1 shared a technical update indicating that ETH is currently sitting around the 200-period moving average on the 4-hour chart. This level often acts as a major trend indicator, and reclaiming it could spark renewed bullish momentum. Accordi…

The XRP price action is drawing significant attention, as analysts highlight a distinct wave structure suggesting increased volatility ahead. According to technical patterns on the XRP chart, the cryptocurrency could soon face wild fluctuations on its potential path to retesting its all-time high and aiming for the $4 mark. XRP Wave Map Lays Out Path To A New ATH The XRP price is currently trading at $2.13 after enduring a months-long downtrend that has prevented any upward movement toward revisiting all-time highs. However, despite these momentum struggles, a certified crypto and Elliott Wave analyst, XForceGlobal, has boldly predicted on X (formerly Twitter) that XRP …

Bitcoin (BTC) dropped sharply over the past 24 hours, nearing the $100,000 mark with an intraday low of $100,984. This price movement reflects increased volatility across the crypto market following a public exchange on social media between US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Their clash appears to have triggered a wave of risk-off sentiment among traders. In response, the global crypto market cap slipped 4%, falling from over $3.4 trillion yesterday to $3.33 trillion. Meanwhile, the broader market correction has not gone unnoticed in derivatives data. Derivative Metrics Reveal Bearish Sentiment Spike According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, the Binanc…

Overview: The dollar has begun the new week under pressure, though many financial centers are closed today. The upside pressure on Asia Pacific currencies remains notable. The offshore yuan, the Taiwanese dollar, and Malaysian ringgit, the Japanese yen, and Australian dollar are among the strongest currencies today. The ostensible trigger is speculation of US semiconductor tariffs to be announced Wednesday and continued speculation of a "Mar-a-Lago" currency agreement modeled as it were on the 1985 Plaza Accord that drove the dollar lower. Less fanciful is the idea that the US will seek local currency revaluation in trade talks. Many local markets will re-open tomorrow. T…

Overview: After recovering impressively yesterday, the US dollar saw some follow-through buying initially but has reversed lower and is paring yesterday's gains against the G10 and most emerging market currencies. East Asian emerging market currencies that had surged have now traded lower for the past three sessions. The main talking point today is tomorrow's trade talk between the US and China. The mutual tariffs are so high that even if they were halved, they would still be prohibitive. China's April trade figures show it was able to more than replace the loss of exports to the US and overall Chinese exports rose. While China has replaced US demand, at least initially, …

Many seemed optimistic that the weekend trade talks between the US and China will de-escalate the tension. We are less sanguine. Even if the tariffs on both sides were halved, there would still be an effective bilateral embargo. In the larger picture we are concerned that blocking PRC's exports and denying it a direct investment strategy as an alternative will ultimately not lead to significant reforms in Beijing but will strengthen nationalism and create a more determined and aggressive adversary. It was not out of affection for Berlin that Keynes warned against the bleeding of Germany after WWI. It is in a similar realpolitik vein that we encourage caution of what cou…

Overview: The capital markets are continuing to digest the implications of the US-China 90-day cooling off period. There were dramatic moves yesterday, and with a few exceptions, a consolidative tone has emerged today. The domestic US political focus is shifting to the budget, while the May CPI is due today, and it is expected to be little changed. The dollar is softer against the G10 currencies but the Canadian dollar. While there was no follow-through dollar buying after yesterday's surge, the pullback has been rather shallow. Against emerging market currencies, the dollar is mixed. Most of the Asian currencies weakened, though not the Chinese yuan, central European cu…

Overview: There has been little follow-through dollar buying today after its recovery in North America yesterday. The greenback is softer against most of the G10 currencies. The Antipodeans are lagging alongside the Norwegian krone, perhaps weighed down by the sharp drop in oil prices following President Trump's indication and a deal with Iran may be near. Switzerland reported stronger-than-expected Q1 GDP, and the franc is the strongest of the G10 currencies followed by the Japanese yen. Most emerging market currencies are firmer. The handful of exceptions in China, India, Thailand, and Russia. Equities are struggling today. Most of the large bourses in the Asia Pacific…

Overview: While the US dollar is a little softer today against the G10 currencies, it remains mostly within Wednesday's range. The yen is a notable exception. It made a new high for the week despite the contraction in Q1 25 GDP. Most emerging market currencies are firmer. The markets have not reacted to a statement from President Trump that his administration lacks the capacity to negotiate with all the parties so in the next 2-3 weeks, the US will simply set the tariff rates. Asia Pacific equities ended the week on a mixed note. Europe's Stoxx 600 is up about 0.6%, the fourth daily advance this week. US index futures are up about 0.25%. European bonds are rallying. The …

The dollar traded choppily last week but settled higher against all the G10 currencies. It finished the week on a firm note. The messy upside correction for the dollar may continue. Despite disappointing retail sales and manufacturing output, and softer than expected CPI and PPI, the market has pushed the next Fed cut into Q4 from Q3. Most of the other G10 central banks will likely (again) cut before the Federal Reserve. Halfway through the quarter, the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow Tracker has Q2 growth at 2.4%, which if accurate, would probably be the best in the G10. Still the 90-day reduction of US (and Chinese) punitive tariffs has seen shipment orders surge, and imports, wit…

Overview: Moody’s took away the US AAA rating before the weekend. It was the last of the big three rating agencies to do so. We do not think there is fresh information content in its belated decision, but participants in Asia and Europe have reacted by selling the US dollar and US assets. The 30-year bond yield is above 5% and the 10-year yield is near 4.50%. The S&P 500, which rose by over 5.25% last week, its second-best week of the year, is set to snap a five-day advance. It is poised to gap lower. The greenback is broadly lower. Nearly all the G10 currencies are at least 0.5% higher against the dollar but the New Zealand and Canadian dollars are trailing. Nearly a…

Overview: US stocks and bonds recovered from yesterday's sell-off in Asia and Europe. The Swiss National Bank President Schlegel expressed the views of many Americans when he said on Monday that "There is currently no alternative" to US Treasuries, "and it's not foreseeable that there will be an alternative." The 10- and 30-Treasury yields finished 3-4 basis points lower, stocks closed higher. Yet the tug-of-war continues, and the dollar was sold again in Asia Pacific and Europe today. Among the G10 only the Antipodean currencies are weaker, following Australia's dovish rate cut. Emerging market currencies are mixed. Following the weekend elections, the Romanian leu is t…
