Anthropic has released a new report that sheds light on a troubling trend. Criminals used its AI system, Claude, to carry out high-level cybercrime, making it not just a tool but the brains behind the operation. They’ve coined the term “vibe hacking” to describe attacks led entirely by AI agents. These weren’t small targets either. Hospitals, emergency services, religious organizations, and even governments were hit. Some ransom demands climbed past half a million dollars. AI Goes From Consultant to Culprit What makes this so alarming is that Claude wasn’t acting as a sidekick. It was running the show. The AI picked targets, identified weak points, calculated the potenti…

The Canadian dollar is coming off its first winning week since July. USD/CAD is calm on Monday, trading at 1.3739, down 0.04% on the day. Canada's GDP for June was a disappointment, declining 0.1% m/m in June. This was unchanged from May and missed the market estimate of 0.1%. The decline was driven by decreased activity in manufacturing, as US tariffs made themselves felt in the Canadian economy. Quarterly, GDP fell by 1.6% in Q2, after a downwardly revised gain of 2% in Q1. This missed the market estimate of -0.6%. Notably, this was the first quarterly contraction in seven quarters, as US tariffs took a toll on Canadian exports. The weak GDP release has raised exp…

US indices just concluded a decent month after a scary monthly open, with the Dow Jones up 3.44% in August. With this month commencing, participants are expecting high volatility ahead. Traders can remember how volatile the prior day to the July NFP and the actual release were – Looking at the state of current state of Markets, a calm before the storm situation is looming. Indeed, with the pricing of rate cuts still subject to change, Markets are still expecting some change in stance: there is just a bit more than 2 FED cuts priced in towards the rest of the year. Ethereum’s recent movements have brought mixed emotions to the market, with a recent price crash to $4,200. While the market navigates these price swings, large holders of ETH, commonly referred to as ‘whales,’ have taken the opportunity to increase their positions significantly. Fresh data from on-chain analytic firms suggest that accumulation among these heavyweight investors is intensifying, even as Ethereum experiences market volatility. Ethereum Whale Accumulation Accelerates According to reports from Santiment, Ethereum’s recent climb toward the $4,500 mark is being largely fueled by accumulation from whales and sharks in the millionaire and small billionaire brack…

XRP’s price outlook is in focus as the US Securities and Exchange Commission lines up decisions on multiple spot ETF applications in late October 2025. Analysts say the outcome of that cluster could decide whether billions of dollars in institutional funds flow into the token before year-end. Filings Point To October Decision Reports show that six issuers have active S-1 filings or amendments waiting for review. The list includes Bitwise, WisdomTree, 21Shares, Canary Capital, CoinShares, and Franklin Templeton. The timing of these filings, following the SEC’s dismissal of its case against Ripple, has raised expectations that issuers are preparing for a launch window ti…

Solana adoption is under scrutiny: Cardano SPO Dave argues that bots inflate the network’s transactions per second (tps). But it’s not all doom and gloom. Supporters counter that even after filtering out failed consensus transactions, Solana’s throughput remains impressive. Plus, with more $SOL ETFs entering the market, the network is securing institutional confidence worldwide. For projects like Snorter Token ($SNORT), this is a major boon. The reason is that once its Telegram trading bot launches on Solana, it’ll benefit from a fast, cost-friendly network that’s increasingly attractive to mainstream investors. Bitcoin yesterday once again climbed to the $113,200 level but quickly slipped back, indicating a lack of active buyers above this range. Apparently, many are hesitant to push higher and are taking a wait-and-see approach. This is also confirmed by Santiment data, which notes that sentiment among crypto traders has deteriorated significantly. The crowd is now expecting BTC to fall below $100,000, and ETH below $3,500. Such a shift in sentiment, however, is nothing unusual for the volatile world of cryptocurrencies. After a period of strong growth and optimism, correction and pessimism are usually inevitable. It's a kind of pendulum swinging between hope and fear, causing…

Bitcoin climbed past $114,000 this week, pushing markets higher after a surprisingly weak reading on producer prices. According to reports, the move followed a pullback in US PPI that many traders read as a sign the Federal Reserve may be able to start cutting rates. The jump was quick and loud on price charts. It caught the attention of both retail traders and bigger money. Cooling Inflation Spurs Rate Cut Bets According to published data, US Producer Price Index (PPI) fell to about 2.6% year-on-year, while core PPI — which strips out food and energy — came in near 2.8%. On a monthly basis, PPI showed a drop, one of the first such moves since March 2024. Based on rep…

Bitcoin (BTC) has extended, surging to a three-week high of $115,500, fueled by softer U.S. inflation data and steady inflows into Bitcoin ETFs. The rally coincided with growing investor optimism that the Federal Reserve may deliver a 25 basis-point rate cut next week, further boosting risk appetite. According to CoinMarketCap data, Ethereum (ETH) also gained ground, trading above $4,550, while altcoins like Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE) recorded sharp increases. Solana climbed over 7% to $239, while Dogecoin rose 5% to $0.26, signaling broad-based strength across the crypto market. Market analysts credited the upward move to different macroeconomic stability and…

Price movements in the energy commodity markets are known to be volatile, with a huge number of factors influencing its supply and demand. Between global economic activity fluctuating, OPEC+ countries trying to shake each others out, and persistent wars implying re-routed exports/imports, trying to understand each and every move is a daunting, almost impossible task. But understanding movements is a task for historians, traders need to focus on the current course of action in an attempt to generate profits (and minimize losses that will always incur). Over the preceding week, the Trump Administration repeated their discontent over Europe still purchasing Russian oil th…

Bitcoin rose 50% in 45 days from April into May, before reaching a new all-time-high just shy of $112K. Since then, it’s fallen 6%, sitting now right at $105K. Was the ATH a rare surge, and have Bitcoin’s fundamentals returned to something more pessimistic? Or is this a temporary pullback with strong support underneath? Evidence points more to the latter, especially with news that Bitcoin miners in Nigeria are addressing one of the longest-standing objections to crypto. And that could set Bitcoin, and the Bitcoin meme coin BTC Bull token, up for big moves in the weeks to come. On-chain data shows the veteran investors of the Bitcoin market have shown exhaustion recently, but they still hold 11.9% of the supply. 3-5 Year Old Bitcoin Holders Have Slowed Down Their Selling In a new post on X, the on-chain analytics firm Glassnode has talked about the latest trend in the Realized Cap of the 3 to 5 years old Bitcoin investors. The “Realized Cap” here refers to an indicator that measures BTC’s total value by assuming the ‘real’ value of any token in circulation is equal to the price at which it was last transacted on the blockchain. Since the previous transfer for any coin is likely to correspond to the last point at which it changed hands, the pri…

As the Bitcoin (BTC) price stabilizes 5% below its all-time high of $111,800, which was reached last week, predictions of further price declines have emerged. More surprisingly, one expert claims that all of BTC’s history is a “staged illusion,” which could cause it to dip toward the $10,000 mark for the first time in nearly five years. Expert Alleges Bitcoin’s Rise As ‘Largest Bubble In History’ Jacob King, the CEO of the news aggregator Whale Whire, took to social media to assert that Bitcoin’s trajectory is a carefully constructed illusion, designed to convey a sense of institutional commitment and government endorsement, thereby fostering the illusion of a thriving m…

Bitcoin’s recent rally appears to have paused as the asset declined to just above $104,000 following a 2.1% drop over the past 24 hours. This latest movement signals a potential shift in short-term market momentum, with traders increasingly opting to exit positions. While the broader cryptocurrency market has experienced similar pullbacks, Bitcoin’s trajectory is attracting closer scrutiny due to its influence on overall sentiment and market structure. Analysts are looking into how external factors, particularly geopolitical developments, are impacting trading behavior. One such development is the reported military engagement between Israel and Iran on June 13, which tr…
