OpenAI has inked a multiyear deal with AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) for six gigawatts of GPU capacity to power its next generation of AI models. It’s a mic drop moment. The agreement, unveiled Monday, could deliver tens of billions in revenue over five years, marking AMD’s biggest step yet toward challenging Nvidia’s dominance in AI chips. AMD and Nvidia will never become the same. NVIDIA will likely make an x86 processor that might be ok, but AMD is crushing in CPUs and might forever after this deal. Intel will eventually be sold off to government mothballs since they can’t make new enterprise or consumer products. Learn more …

A new study from the Colorado School of Mines has found that the United States could meet much of its demand for critical minerals by recovering materials currently discarded in mining waste. Published this week in Science, the analysis shows that nearly all critical minerals used in clean energy technologies, electronics, and defense applications are already present in ore processed at US mines. However, the majority of these materials end up in tailings and other waste streams rather than being refined for use. The analysis highlights cobalt and germanium as prime examples. Recovering less than 10% of the cobalt already mined and processed but lost to waste stre…

Ore from American Rare Earths’ (ASX: ARR; US-OTC: ARRNF) Halleck Creek project in southeast Wyoming has for the first time been made into light and heavy rare earth oxide concentrates for a Department of Defense-linked agency. A research group assayed the concentrates to about 96.4% light rare earth oxides and 97.1% heavy rare earth oxides from 840 kg of ore composited from about 36 drill holes across the project, the company said Friday. These oxides are used in the production of permanent magnets. “These results provide a very meaningful third-party validation that light and heavy rare earths oxides can be produced from the Halleck Creek allanite hosted ore body…

Americas Gold & Silver (TSX: USA; NYSE-A: USAS) on Friday said it had traced a high-grade upper extension of the producing 149 Vein at its Galena Complex in Idaho. Bitcoin is at a crossroads again. Prices have been bouncing between $61,000 and $104,000 for about seven months. That range looks a lot like the $31,000–$64,000 sideways move before the sharp drop in early 2022. Traders and analysts are split over whether history is about to repeat itself or if fresh demand will keep Bitcoin aloft. Price Stuck In Familiar Range According to reports, Bitcoin’s stretch from $61k to $104k mirrors the 2020–2021 “distribution zone” when it traded between $31,000 and $64,000 for nearly a year. Back then, the slide came fast: Bitcoin peaked around $69,000 in November 2021, then sank to roughly $15,600 by November 2022. That was a nearly 78% pl…

The first significant sign that US inflation continues to rise proved to be a cold shower for market participants, causing a sharp rise in the dollar and a decline in demand for equities. According to the latest data, in Q2 the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index rose slightly more than expected, to 2.1% versus a forecast of 2.0%—still noticeably lower than the previous period's 3.7%. The core PCE also rose slightly to 2.6% from 2.5%, compared with the last 3.5%. There was good news as well—a strong upward revision to Q2 GDP, which shot up to 3.8% from -0.5% with a forecast of 3.3%. In addition, durable goods orders rose sharply, up 2.9% in August versus a…

The New Zealand Dollar has been under heavy pressure in recent weeks, weighed down by a string of disappointing economic data, including a sharp GDP contraction that surprised markets and pushed the RBNZ toward a more dovish stance. But markets often move in unexpected ways. Despite the policy decision being split between a 25 bps and 50 bps cut, and the RBNZ ultimately choosing the larger move, NZD/USD didn’t tumble as far as expected. In fact, buyers stepped in, bringing the pair back to nearly unchanged levels by the close of yesterday's session. …

The wave structure for GBP/USD continues to indicate the formation of an upward impulsive wave sequence. The wave pattern is almost identical to EUR/USD, as the only "driver" remains the U.S. dollar. Demand for the dollar is declining across the market (in the medium term), so many instruments are showing nearly identical dynamics. At the moment, the formation of the assumed wave 5 continues, within which waves 1 and 2 have already been formed. The current wave structure raises no doubts. It should be remembered that much in the currency market now depends on Donald Trump's policies, and not only trade policy. Occasionally, positive news emerges from the U.S., but the mar…
