Canada’s Torex Gold Resources (TSX: TXG) is making another bold move in Mexico, announcing a C$449 million ($327M) all-share deal to acquire Prime Mining (TSX: PRYM), owner of the Los Reyes gold-silver project. Under the agreement, Prime shareholders will receive 0.060 Torex shares for each Prime share, translating to roughly 10.5 million new Torex shares, or 10.7% of the company. Torex said the acquisition enhances its medium and long-term growth potential, by adding a high-quality advanced exploration/development-stage asset in Mexico. The move follows Torex’s acquisition in June of junior Reyna Silver, which granted the Toronto-based miner access to early-…

Ethereum’s on-chain activity is heating up, and price action tends to follow this growing engagement. Rising active addresses indicate that existing users are interacting with the network more frequently, while the surge in new addresses reflects a steady influx of fresh participants. These metrics suggest that ETH growth is being driven by genuine utility, rather than pure speculation. If these daily transactions persist, ETH could be entering a new phase where fundamentals and market sentiments begin to align, as the ETH engine runs hotter than ever. Is Ethereum Positioning For Market Leadership? Ethereum on-chain activity is quietly but decisively gaining momentum. …

Stripe is working on a new blockchain called Tempo. It is designed to process payments quickly and is being developed with the backing of crypto investment firm Paradigm. The project is still early, with only a handful of people working on it. The existence of Tempo came to light through a job listing looking for engineers with experience in zero-knowledge proofs and Ethereum scaling. Built to Speak Ethereum’s Language Tempo will be compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem. That means developers can write smart contracts in Solidity and plug into existing tools. The idea is not to reinvent the wheel but to offer a familiar environment with better performance for payments. …

The Bitcoin and Ethereum prices have crashed significantly in the last 24 hours. This follows developments on the macro end, which have sparked a bearish sentiment among investors, leading to a wave of sell-offs. Why Bitcoin and Ethereum Prices Are Crashing CoinMarketCap data shows that the Bitcoin and Ethereum prices are crashing, down over 3% and 2%, respectively, in the last 24 hours. This crash is partly thanks to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s statement about the proposed Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. According to a 28 May 2025 filing by the Bank of Russia, financial institutions can offer “qualified investors” financial derivatives, securities, and digital financial assets whose yields are linked to cryptocurrency prices. Notably, this is a three-year-long experiment. In a press release, the Bank of Russia said that the key condition is that such instruments must be non-deliverable. The legality of cryptocurrency in Russia remains complex. Widespread adoption of crypto in Russia is still largely discouraged. “Qualified investors” or high income individuals with significant financial assets are allowed to own crypto. Meanwhile, the country’s largest bank, Sberbank…

According to Matt Hougan, chief investment officer at Bitwise, what used to be a near‑perfect four‑year Bitcoin pattern now looks less reliable. Supply cuts, rate moves and crash risks once drove big swings. Now, fresh forces are taking over. Halving’s Impact Shrinks Every Cycle Hougan points out that each Bitcoin halving still cuts new coins by 50% but matters less over time. In early cycles, that shock fueled parabolic runs. Today, with a market cap in the hundreds of billions, the same supply cut is half as important every four years. Back in 2016 and 2020, prices jumped more than 150% around halving events. Now, moves hover under 50% in similar windows. Based on a…

According to the legend, Iniskim – meaning Buffalo Healing Stone in Blackfoot language – brought prosperity back to peoples stricken with famine and starvation on prairie plains. Long ago, as the story is told, one sister among three out collecting firewood heard singing, leading her to a rock that spoke, telling her the buffalo, a vital source of food and warmth, could hear it – and that it would call the buffalo back, after herds had wandered too far from the camp. The rock was the ammonite, which the Blackfoot peoples still consider a sacred stone that brings prosperity. The only known reserves in the world are in the Bearpaw Formation, which spans the Ca…

The US may offer Russia access to its critical minerals alongside other economic incentives in an effort to bring an end to the war in Ukraine, according to The Telegraph. The British paper reported on Wednesday evening that US President Donald Trump is prepared to let Moscow tap into its natural resources in Alaska and lift some sanctions on Russia’s aerospace industry. Another key element of the proposal is granting Kremlin access to rare earth deposits in Ukrainian territories currently under Russian occupation. The deal will likely be presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin during an upcoming meeting in Anchorage, says The Telegraph. The meeting, schedul…

Is the Moody’s U.S. Downgrade a Red Flag or Not? Why Falling Stocks and Rising Bond Yields Are a Red Flag for Markets Under different circumstances, Moody’s downgrade of U.S. sovereign debt might have been shrugged off. But this time, it triggered a sell-off in U.S. bonds, stocks, and the dollar as the new week opened. It’s a textbook case of the adage: “It’s not the news, it’s the market’s reaction to it that matters.” The market had been pricing in optimism—higher stocks, a firm dollar, and demand for bonds. The downgrade caught that mood off guard. Was Moody’s downgrade the trigger? Or did it merely highlight deeper vulnerabilities—such as ballooning U.S. fiscal …

Upset you didn’t buy that dip last week? With Uncle Trump in charge, making money in crypto isn’t even hard anymore, and now we’re finally seeing the Trump 401K crypto play come into focus. President Donald Trump has moved to expand what Americans can hold in their retirement accounts, signing an order that could bring crypto, private equity, and real estate into 401(k) plans for the first time at scale. About 90 million savers could be affected. “This executive order supports our efforts to improve flexibility and eliminate unfair one-size-fits-all approaches,” Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer said. Even if the allocation to crypto is a measly 0.5% of the average n…

Bitcoin is trading with renewed volatility after successfully pushing back into the previous price range above the $115,000 level. According to CryptoQuant data, the % BTC price change since the last difficulty bottom indicator currently sits at +7.4%, placing it in the green zone. This metric is a valuable tool for assessing miner health and market stability. Historically, real miner capitulation phases occur when this reading drops in…

Why have South Korea’s retail investors shifted their overseas portfolios from US big tech to virtual asset-related stocks? Especially those tied to stablecoins? According to a recent report by the Korean Center for International Finance (KCIF), brought to light by the Korea Times on 11 August 2025, the shift in investor emotions is largely based on the US GENIUS Act. Interestingly, the share of crypto related names among the top 50 net-bought overseas stocks by Koreans jumped from 8.5% in January to 36.5% in June, before easing to 31.4% in July this year. Furthermore, net purchases of the top seven US big tech stocks fell from a monthly average of $1.68 billion (Janu…
