Mining companies accounted for over half of the entries on this year’s TSX30 — an annual list of the 30 top-performing names on Canada’s largest stock exchange over a three-year period. The best performer in the mining industry was Vancouver-headquartered Lundin Gold (TSX: LUG), with a gain of 775%, good for second place behind supply chain solutions provider Celestica (TSX: CLS), which amassed a near 1,600% jump over the three years. USD/CAD The USD/CAD pair has reached the target resistance at 1.3860. A pullback is possible, as the price is essentially within the sideways range observed in the second half of April. However, the Marlin oscillator is confidently starting to rise in positive territory, so the probability of the price consolidating above the 1.3860 level is more than 50%. After such consolidation, growth toward the next target resistance at 1.3958 is possible. It's also worth noting the price's attempt to pull away from the balance line after unsuccessful attempts to drop below it from September 5–9. This signals the price's desire to accelerate its rise. On the H4 chart, the price beg…

EUR/USD Yesterday's US Producer Price Index (PPI) data had little effect on the dollar (Dollar Index -0.01%) but notably shifted the probability of a December rate cut to 3.75% from 58.6% to 62.5%. The August PPI came in at 2.6% versus 3.1% y/y in July (revised down from 3.3%), while Core PPI showed 2.8% y/y versus 3.4% previously (revised down from 3.7%). This is quite a significant drop in the indices, but overall it was due to August's collapse in PPI from 0.7% m/m (0.9% before revision) to -0.1% m/m. Market participants generally judged that the PPI drop in August would only affect overall inflation by winter, which explains the current 62.5% probability of a rate cut…

The crypto market is heating up as Bitcoin surged past $114,000. Traders are now wondering what the next crypto to explode could be, as altcoins also post impressive gains. Solana (SOL) climbed above $220, BNB hit a fresh all-time high, while Ethereum (ETH) is holding strong around $4,400. PriceBTC24h7d30d1yAll time Meanwhile, today marks a major milestone for Ethereum’s ecosystem: the long-awaited Linea airdrop is finally live. Linea, developed by Ethereum software firm Consensys, is launching its native LINEA token in one of the most anticipated events in years. Unlike other layer-2s, Linea will use ETH as its gas token while introducing a buyback-and-burn mechanism fo…

Larry Ellison has unexpectedly dethroned Elon Musk as the world's richest individual. Ellison's fortune surged to $393 billion, while Musk's net worth now stands at $385 billion. The dramatic shift is explained by a staggering single-day increase in Ellison's wealth—over $100 billion. The backdrop could hardly be more favorable. The S&P 500 gained 0.4% and the Nasdaq rose 0.3%, with both indices hitting new all-time highs, while the Dow Jones was little changed. Markets were buoyed by a weaker-than-expected Producer Price Index (PPI) report. In August, it unexpectedly dropped by 0.1%, and the July figure was revised lower. On an annual basis, inflation metrics also c…

The XRP price is drawing attention this week as traders watch for signs of a potential upward move. Market analyst Egrag Crypto says the token is pressing hard against a falling wedge pattern and could be close to breaking out. According to the analyst, the lines are converging on the current price, and this could be the stage where momentum shifts quickly. XRP Price Pushes Toward Breakout From Falling Wedge Egrag Crypto says XRP is standing on the edge of what he calls a “significant structural breakout.” For weeks, the token has been moving inside a falling wedge, a formation that often shows pressure building before a breakout. Currently, that pattern is tightening, a…

On Monday, Steven Mirran may officially become one of the members of the Fed's Board of Governors. Recall that in August, Adriana Kugler decided to leave her post under rather strange circumstances, six months before the end of her term. In my opinion, this did not happen without Donald Trump's influence. And since Kugler had only a few months left at the Fed, she chose not to start a legal battle with the President of the United States—unlike Lisa Cook, who is only just beginning her story at the Fed. Thus, as of Monday, there will be three known "doves" on the FOMC. The first two are Christopher Waller, who remains one of the candidates for the role of Chair after Powel…

US Critical Materials Corp. announced a strategic advisory alliance with GreenMet, a Washington, D.C.-based firm specializing in critical minerals strategy and financing. US stock market maintains resilienceThe US stock market remains resilient amid the absence of fear over new tariffs and a potential government shutdown. Despite high P/E ratios, especially among companies such as Robinhood, foreign investors continue to actively invest in US equities, driving the S&P 500 to a new record. Experts note that high liquidity and rising share buybacks sustain optimism in the market. Nevertheless, caution persists over the potential impact of political factors on corporate earnings. Follow the link for more details. Indices rise on investor optimismUS stock indices advanced on September 29, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.26% and the Nas…

Dogecoin’s multi-month decline may be approaching a turning point, with market structure and momentum dynamics aligning for a sharp upside resolution, according to crypto analyst Cantonese Cat in a video analysis published on September 29. He argues that DOGE’s retracement has unfolded on dwindling participation—a setup that historically precedes outsized upside once even modest buy-side flows return. Dogecoin Coiling For An Upside Explosion “Having a hard time breaking above the 0.618 over here,” he says of Dogecoin’s primary Fibonacci retracement barrier on the higher-timeframe chart, while also noting that price remains pinned beneath the weekly Ichimoku cloud. Drilling at DPM Metals’ (TSX, ASX: DPM) Loma Larga project in Ecuador has been put on hold following widespread protests, the Canadian miner said as it released a new study that showed higher capital costs and smaller potential returns. A 23,000-metre drilling program, which had previously been expected to start in the second half, has been “paused,” DPM said late Tuesday without providing a timeframe. The company said it will “continue to engage with stakeholders to address their concerns, and work with the government to understand its expectations for resuming DPM’s planned activities.” Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa last month requested further information on…

"Don't fight the Fed." Well, it depends on what the Federal Reserve is saying. Recent comments from Jerome Powell that U.S. equities are highly valued only briefly spooked investors. They quickly bought the dip and pushed the S&P 500 to its 29th record high. If the Fed Chair intended to scare the market, it didn't work. Historically, when the central bank has commented on the overvaluation of equities — going back to 1996 — the broad stock index has, on average, risen by 13% over the following 12 months. During that same period, it consistently outperformed its global peers. P/E Ratio Trends and Fed Mentions of S&P 500 Valuation In reality, the Fed's stance is und…

Central banks are usually less agile than hedge funds or asset managers. However, they control enormous reserves of $12 trillion. If they begin diversifying by selling one currency and buying another, the consequences for Forex could be massive. In this regard, the reduction of the U.S. dollar's share in foreign exchange reserves to 56.3%—the lowest level since 1995—has seriously alarmed EUR/USD bears. Could the process of offloading the greenback already be underway? Dynamics of the U.S. Dollar's Share in Central Bank Reserves There are plenty of reasons for concern. The highest tariffs since the 1930s, along with attempts by the White House to undermine the Fed's…

The Ethereum price has once again crossed the $4,500 threshold, trading just 9% below its all-time high of $4,946, prompting a surge of bullish predictions for the leading altcoin. Bullish Reversal For Ethereum Price Market expert Gert van Lagen took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his insights, suggesting that the Ethereum price is currently following a “textbook” expanding diagonal pattern on its biweekly chart. As seen in the expert’s chart below, this expanding diagonal pattern is characterized by a series of rising trend lines, indicating a potential reversal from a downtrend to an uptrend. Over the past month and a half, the Ethereum price has consolidated bet…

Overview: The US dollar is trading softer but most inside yesterday's ranges. An unexpected jump in Japanese unemployment has weighed on the yen, which is the only G10 currency that is not gaining on the dollar today. The soft greenback means the Canadian dollar is likely under-performing and it is barely firmer on the day. Sterling is the next to weakest following the final September composite PMI reading that lowered to slightly above the 50 boom/bust levels. Most emerging market currencies are also firmer. The JP Morgan and MSCI emerging market currency indices are up 0.2%-0.3% this week. Equities are pushing higher. In the Asia Pacific region only Hong Kong among the…

The wave structure on the 4-hour chart for EUR/USD has remained unchanged for several months, but in recent days it has started to take on a rather complicated shape. It is still too early to conclude that the upward trend segment has been canceled, but further complication of the wave pattern in the near future is quite possible. The upward trend segment continues to build, while the news backdrop mostly favors currencies other than the dollar. The trade war initiated by Donald Trump continues. The confrontation with the Fed continues. The market's "dovish" expectations regarding the Fed's rate are growing. The market has a rather low opinion of Donald Trump's first 6–7 …

BNB has cleared the $1,050 mark with a strong cup-and-handle breakout, putting bulls firmly in the driver’s seat. The next big question: can momentum carry the token toward the $1,100 target? BNB Breaks $1,050, Extending September Momentum Crypto analyst Cipher X, in a recent update, emphasized that BNB has officially broken through the $1,050 mark, locking in yet another key milestone following its impressive September rally. This week, the market's attention will once again be focused—if not entirely, then almost entirely—on the U.S. dollar. More precisely, on the U.S. news cycle surrounding the dollar. Let's recall that last week marked the beginning of a government shutdown, and a new vote in the Senate to extend funding deadlines failed. Republicans are still a few votes short of passing the budget for the next fiscal year. As a result, it's currently impossible to say with certainty when the shutdown will end. Meanwhile, the shutdown continues to evolve with increasingly complex political baggage. Democrats still demand that social and healthcare programs not be cut, effectively pushing f…

Why is crypto up today? Crypto is green to start the week as Bitcoin’s fresh all-time high and a softer dollar lift risk appetite, while SPX, FARTCOIN, and AIC headline Sunday’s biggest movers ahead of FOMC. The crypto market gained ground over the past 24 hours, led by meme and AI-linked tokens after Bitcoin set a new record above $125,000 on Sunday. As total crypto capitalization edged higher, SPX6900 (SPX), FARTCOIN, and AI Companions (AIC) stood out among the top performers. Their gains tracked renewed inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs and a weaker dollar that lifted risk sentiment. Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index (DXY) eased toward 97.7 late last week, giving r…

Ethereum has so far underperformed in this market cycle but looks ready to mount a parabolic rally based on analysts’ predictions. Crypto analyst Crypto Bullet recently highlighted a bullish pattern on ETH’s chart, which provides a bullish outlook for the altcoin. Bitcoin (BTC) is trying to reclaim a crucial area amid its recent price recovery, which could propel the flagship crypto toward new highs. Some analysts suggested that BTC is preparing for the “final resistance,” while others warned that it still risks a potential pullback to lower levels. Bitcoin Rally Eyes Next Resistance Bitcoin has finally regained significant bullish momentum after printing a massive daily candle on Monday. The flagship crypto recently lost its post-all-time high (ATH) range of $106,800-$109,700, sparking concern among some investors. Amid the recent market pullbacks, which began in late May, the flagship crypto also registered some volatility, lo…

Bitcoin’s price outlook remains sky-high after Strategy founder Michael Saylor told Bloomberg on Tuesday that a market freeze won’t come back. He argued that growing demand and limited daily supply point straight to a rally toward $1 million. Supply And Demand Pressure According to Saylor, miners release only about 450 BTC each day. That adds up to roughly $50 million at today’s price of around $109,859. He said once that $50 million is snapped up by buyers, there’s no choice but for the price to climb. His view rests on the idea that active demand now matches or exceeds what miners sell. High Price Targets Based on reports, asset manager ARK Invest recently boosted i…

Did the next major move in blockchain technology just come from Vietnam? Developing nations are becoming key crypto drivers, with Vietnam and Pakistan emerging in recent days as potential leaders. Establishing country-level crypto standards like Vietnam has done, or developing frameworks and planning a national Bitcoin reserve, the way Pakistan is doing, can only boost crypto adoption at home and abroad. It also showcases how Bitcoin and broader blockchain technology can help emerging economies fuel growth and innovation. As we’ll discuss later, it could also add rocket fuel to some of the top altcoins. Vietnam, Saylor, Pakistan: 4 Takeaways What do the moves in Paki…
