USDT issuer Tether has been dealt a blow in its multibillion-dollar lawsuit with Celsius after a US bankruptcy judge ruled that the lawsuit can proceed. The judge denied Tether’s attempt to dismiss claims that it “improperly” liquidated Celsius’s Bitcoin collateral during the crypto lender’s collapse in 2022. Per court documents filed in New York on June 30, Celsius claims that Tether executed a “fire sale” of over 39,500 Bitcoin in June 2022, which it then used against Celsius’s $812 million debt without following pre-agreed procedures. A surge of inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs helped push the price to $109,758, followed shortly after by another move to around $110,386 in the past 24 hours. This brings Bitcoin within close proximity to its price peak just above $111,000. Now that momentum is clearly leaning bullish, technical analysis shows a breakout that could see Bitcoin increase by another 52% within the next three months. Moonwell DeFi on Ethereum layer-2 Base layer-2 is booming. WELL crypto price jumps 12% as staking activity spikes 120%. Will WELL crypto roar to $0.045? In DeFi, users are sensitive to fees. While Bitcoin struggles to break above its all-time high and altcoins face difficulty finding solid support, one corner of the crypto market continues to expand: stablecoins. Since the beginning of the bull run, the stablecoin market has shown consistent growth, cementing its reputation as one of crypto’s most reliable and scalable use cases. Unlike volatile assets, stablecoins offer stability, liquidity, and utility across DeFi, trading, and settlement. Top analyst Darkfost recently shared fresh data and highlighted a key development many have overlooked — the total supply of ERC-20 stablecoins is rising again. As of today, it has reached a new all-time high o…

Bitcoin’s up nearly 8.5% this week, approaching $120K and clocking over $123B in 24h volume. But now, the real volatility (and upside) is rotating into the best altcoins. Traders are chasing faster gains down the cap table (memes, AI tokens, new L1s), and Kraken’s making those trades easier to find and execute. If you’re looking for what’s next, not what already happened, Kraken’s where you start. Altcoin Rotation Is Heating Up Bitcoin’s ripping, but Ethereum’s catching up fast. $ETH is up over 17% this week and now flirting with the $3K mark. Historically, when $ETH gains momentum, the altcoin floodgates tend to open, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing. BTC domin…

Ethereum’s price action in the past seven days has seen it finally touch the $3,000 resistance zone for the first time in months. This interesting move comes amid growing institutional attention caused by the massive inflows into Spot Ethereum ETFs and Bitcoin’s recent climb to new all-time highs. Ethereum has gained over 17% in the past seven days alone, reaching a new local high of $3,065. Interestingly, bullish technical structures are starting to emerge that could send the ETH price soaring toward new all-time highs. Two analysts have now spotted classic bullish setups, both hinting at a significant rally on the horizon. Cup And Handle Pattern Points To $4,200 If B…

French lawmakers are looking at Bitcoin mining as a way to make use of the country’s unused electricity. A proposal submitted on July 11 calls for a five-year pilot that would use excess power, mostly from France’s nuclear grid, to mine Bitcoin. The idea is simple: instead of letting unused energy go to waste, turn it into money. Lawmakers believe just one gigawatt of surplus power could bring in as much as $150 million a year. Matching Power Spikes with Mining Rigs About 70 percent of France’s electricity comes from nuclear energy. That’s steady and reliable, but not always easy to match with demand. Sometimes the grid ends up with more power than it needs, especially a…

Week in review: Cryptos on top and Decent US Data It’s been a roller‑coaster week—between volatile macro data, tariff threats, and fresh geopolitical turmoil, all jostling with record‑breaking crypto moves. US inflation data eased a touch as CPI (core at 0.2% vs 0.3% exp) and PPI (unchanged, 0.2% consensus) both came in cooler than expected, while Retail Sales surprised to the upside, showing consumer demand still holding firm. Equities briefly hit new highs—the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 climbed on solid earnings reports—but traders have been taking profits in today's session. Both indices still finish the week up comfortably, except for the Dow which has rea…

Overview: The US dollar begins the new week with a softer bias, but it still needs to run the North American gauntlet, which has tended to be more constructive than other centers recently. As seemed likely, less than a year after losing its majority in the lower, the LDP and Komeito coalition lost its majority in the upper chamber yesterday. Japanese domestic markets were closed for a national holiday, but the yen strengthened om the news, even before the US 10-year yield extended its pullback for the fourth consecutive session. The greenback is mostly softer against the G10 currencies and most emerging market currencies today. Except for Taiwan and Australia, most large…

Jack Mallers, founder of Strike, argued in a video shared on X that a structurally higher Bitcoin price is emerging as a necessary component of US fiscal management, linking the growth of stablecoins to demand for US government debt. Framing the newly introduced GENIUS Act stablecoin legislation as “a seminal moment for digital assets and global dollar dominance,” Mallers said that while the bill “has nothing to do with Bitcoin directly,” it is indirectly significant because stablecoin expansion and Bitcoin appreciation are, in his view, intertwined. Mihai Jacob, a well-known market watcher, says the Bitcoin price rally that followed Powell’s Friday speech may not be as strong as it first looked. The charts, he explains, continue to flash signs of weakness that should not be ignored. According to Jacob, the flagship cryptocurrency could still face another sharp decline, and a drop below $100,000 remains a real risk despite the short-term optimism. Powell’s Speech Gave Bitcoin Price A Lift, But Charts Tell A Different Story Jacob explains that in his earlier analysis, he noted the $110,000 zone as a key level for Bitcoin. As long as that level held, the broader bullish structure could technically stay intact. Powell’s…

Markets just received the report for the much-anticipated Core PCE, which came exactly as expected – The month-over-month Core release came at 0.3 % vs 0.3% expectations. All data components are once again exactly as expected, Core PCE is calculated from already released data, so not surprising to get accurate expectations. This brings the y/y total to 2.6% for the headline and 2.9% for the Core. Canada released their own GDP data which came at -0.1%, a miss on the already weak 0.1% m/m expectations. Annualized, the Canadian GDP is at -1.6%! Canada is still awaiting for a proper relaunch of their slowing economy, and the Loonie that was strenghtening these past few da…

Raoul Pal says two of crypto’s most-watched legacy altcoins—XRP and Dogecoin—are coiling for their next act. In a new X thread framed as “the Crypto Waiting Room,” the Real Vision and GMI co-founder argues that a broad swath of the market is consolidating before another leg higher, with capital already “full ported” into Ethereum and rotation risk building for assets lower down the stack. XRP And Dogecoin Are In The ‘Waiting Room’ “Let’s talk about the Crypto Waiting Room… many key parts of the crypto ecosystem are in the waiting room ready to launch,” Pal wrote, opening a chart-dense series that he says draws on Global Macro Investor’s probabilistic framework. Bitcoin’s (BTC) recent volatility has unsettled investors, as the largest cryptocurrency by market cap slid by more than five percent over the last two weeks. However, two key on-chain factors indicate that the BTC market structure is largely resilient. Bitcoin Remains Strong Despite Volatility According to a CryptoQuant Quicktake post by contributor XWIN Research Japan, two important on-chain indicators suggest that despite the recent slump in price, the overall market structure remains strong for the flagship cryptocurrency. The first is Bitcoin’s Delta Cap – a long-term valuation model derived from the difference between Realized Cap and Average Cap – that has histo…
