The U.S. dollar reacted with a decline to Wednesday's data release from ADP Research. According to the report, the number of jobs in American companies unexpectedly decreased in September. Although this was partly due to data adjustments, the company stated that the figures continue to confirm the overall downward trend. The data point to sluggish employment growth, weaker demand for new hires, limited layoffs, and modest wage increases. "This month's data once again confirm what we are seeing in the labor market: U.S. employers are being cautious about hiring," said Nela Richardson, ADP's chief economist. The report, published jointly with Stanford University's Digital …

Crypto analyst Cantonese Cat (@cantonmeow on X) argues that DOGE remains in a long-duration advance that has not yet delivered its terminal impulse. In a video analysis published on October 1, the analyst lays out a multi-cycle framework built on logarithmic charting, Elliott Wave structure, and Fibonacci extensions, concluding that a run toward roughly $4 per coin is the most probable outcome of the current bull phase. “It’s all math,” he says, adding that liquidity dynamics and market structure—not simplistic notions of market capitalization—will determine how far the move extends. Dogecoin To $4? The analyst opens by dispelling social-media speculation about his iden…

Trade breakdown and guidance on trading the British pound The test of the 1.3487 price level occurred at a time when the MACD indicator had already moved significantly above the zero mark, which limited the pair's upward potential. For this reason, I did not buy the pound. The absence of U.K. statistics allowed pound buyers to show a modest increase. The weakening of the U.S. dollar, amid mixed expectations regarding the Federal Reserve's further policy and the government shutdown, supports the British currency. In the near term, the GBP/USD pair's dynamics will depend on the flow of macroeconomic data from both countries and the rhetoric of central bank officials. In the…

Today's labor data from Japan showed a jump in the August unemployment rate from 2.3% to 2.6% (forecast: 2.4%). According to market participants, such figures will slow the Bank of Japan's monetary tightening. Considering that the yen has spent 2.5 months in the 146.29–149.38 range precisely in anticipation of tightening signals, after a signal pointing to easing, the pair may break out of the range upward. On the daily chart, we see that the upper boundary of the range at 149.38 will soon align with the MACD line, so their overlap may provoke another strong price surge, continuing the uptrend. The target is the 151.70–152.10 range. The Marlin oscillator is close to ente…

AI rules the day! No matter how grim Donald Trump's threats of mass layoffs, warnings from Scott Bessent about a U.S. economic slowdown, or even the ADP private sector jobs report may seem, the S&P 500 still managed to notch its 30th record high of the year. Leading the northbound herd are the tech giants. Deals between OpenAI and Samsung Electronics, as well as SK Hynix, sparked a swift rebound in the broad equity index after a dip early in the session. Performance of Tech and Other Sectors in the S&P 500 A 45% rally in tech stocks since the April low doesn't look like a bubble — at least according to Bank of America. The bank recommends that its client…

On the hourly chart, the GBP/USD pair on Friday rose to the 61.8% retracement level at 1.3482, bounced off it, turned in favor of the dollar, fell to the 76.4% Fibonacci level at 1.3425, and rebounded from it. Thus, today the growth process may resume toward the 1.3482 level. A consolidation of the pair below 1.3425 would allow us to expect a further decline toward the support level at 1.3332–1.3357, from where the bulls' last ascent began. The wave structure remains "bearish." The last completed downward wave did not break the previous low, and the last upward wave did not break the previous high. The news background over the past week was negative for the U.S. dollar…

On Friday, the EUR/USD pair continued to rise after bouncing from the 76.4% retracement level at 1.1695. Thus, on Monday this process may continue toward the resistance zone of 1.1789–1.1802. A consolidation of quotes below 1.1695 would favor the U.S. dollar and a further decline toward the support level of 1.1637–1.1645. The wave situation on the hourly chart remains simple and clear. The last completed downward wave broke the previous wave's low, while the last upward wave did not break the previous peak. Thus, the trend currently remains "bearish." The latest labor market data and the changed outlook for the Fed's monetary policy support bullish traders, so I expect…

The AUD/JPY pair began the week with a bullish gap and reached 99.37 — levels last seen in November 2024. The strong intraday rally was driven by heavy selling of the Japanese yen, indicating the potential for further gains in the pair in the near term. On Saturday, Sanae Takaichi won the second round of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leadership election and is expected to be confirmed as Japan's first female prime minister at the parliamentary session in mid-October. Takaichi is considered a "fiscal dove" and may announce a more expansionary economic policy. This increases the likelihood that the Bank of Japan will not raise rates this month, triggering aggressive ye…

Hudbay Minerals has resumed operations at its Constancia mine in Peru, weeks after halting output due to local protests and blockades that disrupted access to the site. The company said a 20,000 dry-metric-tonne concentrate shipment originally scheduled for late September has been delayed to early October because of transport disruptions and adverse ocean conditions. The delay will temporarily reduce third-quarter sales volumes, Hudbay noted. During the shutdown, the company carried out preventive maintenance on the mill and mining equipment. Hudbay added that its workforce is returning to normal levels in the coming days. Following the update, Hudbay shares r…

Macroeconomic Report Overview: Only one macroeconomic release is scheduled for Wednesday — Germany's industrial production data. We believe that most traders already understand that this report, even if it generates a short-term reaction, is unlikely to have any significant influence on the broader market trend. The U.S. dollar continues to strengthen for reasons that defy fundamental and macroeconomic logic. We consider the current movement entirely illogical, and traders need to recognize and accept that. Key Fundamental Events: Despite a thin macro data calendar, several fundamental events are lined up. In the Eurozone, European Central Bank President Chri…

Teck Resources (TSX: TECK.A, TECK.B)(NYSE: TECK) has lowered its copper production guidance for 2025 after persistent setbacks at its Quebrada Blanca (QB) mine in Chile and Highland Valley Copper (HVC) operation in Canada. The company, which in September agreed to a $53-billion merger with Anglo American (LON: AAL), stressed that the deal’s strategic rationale remains intact. Teck reported QB copper output of 39,600 tonnes and sales of 43,900 tonnes in the third quarter. Annual production guidance for 2025 has been cut to between 170,000 and 190,000 tonnes, down from 210,000–230,000 tonnes, after extended downtime to raise the tailings dam crest. Forecast out…

EUR/USD On Thursday, the euro declined by 64 pips, ending up more than 40 pips below the support level of 1.1605. This can be considered price consolidation below the level, which means the euro has chosen the scenario of further decline before closing Monday's gap. The nearest target is 1.1495. Consolidating below this level will open the next target at 1.1392 — the low of August 1. The Marlin oscillator is declining within the area of a downward trend. Yields on U.S. government bonds and the S&P 500 stock index have been moving horizontally all week — the euro has no support for growth, so in the context of the political crisis in France, it continues to decline, …

Dogecoin’s spot pair is grinding higher inside a well-defined structure while its BTC cross sits at an inflection between monthly moving averages—an alignment three widely followed traders say still favors upside, provided trend supports hold. Is It Too Late To Buy Dogecoin? IncomeSharks’ daily chart frames the current advance as a rising channel that has been in place since early summer. Price is riding a sequence of higher lows off the June base and is now near $0.26, mid-channel, with the lower trendline rising through roughly $0.24 and the upper boundary capping rallies in the $0.33 area. The analyst’s “squiggle” path predicted a shallow pullback to the midline fol…

After an impressive rally that propelled Bitcoin (BTC) to new heights above $126,000, the cryptocurrency market is now facing a wave of uncertainty. Major cryptocurrencies, including BTC, have seen a retracement to critical support levels, leaving many investors questioning the market’s direction. Bitcoin And Ethereum Prices Projected To Skyrocket Market expert Ash Crypto recently shared insights on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), suggesting that this pullback serves to liquidate bullish positions, particularly among retail investors. Yesterday, the U.S. dollar fell sharply against most risk assets — and there were objective reasons for that. During his speech, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell indicated that the U.S. central bank intends to lower interest rates, even though the government shutdown is significantly limiting its ability to forecast the state of the economy. Speaking Tuesday at the annual meeting of the National Association for Business Economics, Powell said that the economic outlook appeared to have remained unchanged since the policymakers' September meeting, when they cut interest rates and projected two more reductions this year. Powell repeatedly pointed to weak hiring growth an…

Allied Gold (TSX: AAUC, NYSE: AAUC) soared to an all-time high on Wednesday after the company reported its preliminary results for the third quarter of 2025, showing production in line with expectations but at lower costs. During the three months, Allied produced over 87,000 oz. of gold across its three African mines, a figure that is in line with expectations. This, says the Toronto-based miner, will “fully support strong production in the fourth quarter as previously guided.” Importantly, the company noted that its all-in sustaining costs have materially improved, which in turn is expected to drive an 80% increase in AISC margins. At approximately $2,100/oz., th…

The wave pattern on the 4-hour EUR/USD chart has changed. It's still too early to conclude that the upward trend section has ended, but the latest decline in the euro required an adjustment of the wave count. We now see a series of three-wave structures (a-b-c), which can be assumed to form part of the larger wave 4 of the upward trend segment. In this case, wave 4 has taken an unnaturally extended form, but the overall wave structure remains coherent. The formation of the upward trend continues, while the news background still supports everything but the dollar. The trade war launched by Donald Trump goes on. The confrontation with the Fed continues. The market's "dovish…

The US dollar index slipped by 0.7% this past week — its worst weekly performance since June. Starting from Thursday, the greenback has been weakening for four consecutive trading days, and this isn't just a short-term correction. It's a clear sign of a growing bearish trend. So, what's driving this unexpected decline—and what lies ahead for the American currency? Unexpected downturn: what's pushing the dollar lower This week turned out to be a rough one for the dollar. The dollar index fell by 0.7% — the steepest weekly decline since June. The greenback has now been falling for four sessions in a row — a rare occurrence for such a liquid and typically stable market. Th…

For the fourth consecutive day, the USD/CHF pair has been declining — marking the fifth negative session in the past six days. Spot prices have fallen below the round level of 0.7900 and appear poised for further losses amid the prevailing bearish trend for the U.S. dollar. The U.S. Dollar Index, which tracks the greenback's performance against a basket of major currencies, has fallen to its lowest level in more than a week. This decline comes amid dovish expectations surrounding Federal Reserve policy and the prolonged U.S. government shutdown. Analysts suggest that investors have fully priced in two future Fed rate cuts — one in October and another in December. Meanwhi…

Gold and gold mining stocks have not only surged past the S&P 500 this year but have also quietly outperformed over the past three, five and even ten years—a remarkable run that has unfolded with limited investor participation. Yet despite their impressive returns, the sector remains deeply undervalued, according to those at Sprott, with analysts anticipating further gains and making a case for gold to be included in core strategic holdings, much like during the 1960s and 1970s. Risk diversification In a note published this week, Sprott’s senior portfolio manager John Hathaway wrote that a short-term correction in precious metals — which is inevitable given…
