The US dollar continued to lose ground slowly but steadily against the euro, the pound, and other risk assets. Apparently, the pressure on the dollar is coming from expectations of the Federal Reserve's first interest rate cut this year, anticipated for the middle of this month. Today, data on changes in France's industrial production will be released, and Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel is scheduled to speak. There will also be a Eurogroup meeting, which will likely not have a significant impact on the currency market. Market participants will closely watch the French data. Any unexpected deviations from forecasted values could cause short-term volatility in the euro …

Bitcoin’s recent price action has positioned the cryptocurrency at a pivotal crossroads. While it has successfully broken above a key long-term trendline, it remains locked in a consolidation pattern below its all-time high (ATH). This dual dynamic creates a compelling and uncertain environment, leaving investors to ponder the most critical question in the market: Is the next explosive rally finally loading? Bitcoin Breaks Long-Term Trendline: A Familiar Cycle Signal CryptoELITES, a seasoned crypto analyst, recently revealed a highly bullish perspective on Bitcoin’s recent price action. According to the analysis, Bitcoin has successfully broken above a key long-term tren…

Where does the US economy stand? Judging by the cooling labor market, it is approaching a recession. The acceleration of August inflation will allow talk of stagflation. Both are bad for the S&P 500. So why is the stock market rising? A combination of fiscal and monetary stimulus alongside improved corporate reports usually emerges as the US economy exits a downturn. Under such conditions, the broad equity index typically soars. Investors can afford to keep buying the dips. A record negative BLS revision to employment data for the 12 months through March—down by 911,000—convinced investors of labor market weakness. If non-farm payrolls grew by 76,000 per month instead…

Trade Review and Advice on Trading the EuroThe price test at 1.1752 occurred when the MACD indicator had already moved significantly down from the zero mark, which, in my opinion, limited the downward potential of the pair. For this reason, I did not sell the euro. Despite the absence of key economic data from the United States, the dollar was able to partially recover its previously lost ground. This indicates that market participants chose to take a cautious stance, refraining from active trading. Nevertheless, such restraint may be misleading. Market conditions are still shaped by several factors that could put considerable pressure on the US currency in the future. Fo…

Bitcoin is once again at a decisive moment after several days of tight consolidation around the $110K level. Bulls are making an effort to defend this critical support, while also eyeing the $113K resistance as the next key barrier. A breakout above it could provide the momentum needed for BTC to retest higher supply zones and reignite bullish sentiment. However, the market remains fragile, with volatility and fear weighing heavily on investor confidence. Top analyst Axel Adler provided important context from the derivatives market. According to Adler, the Bitcoin Futures Pressure Score currently stands at 18%, which is considered low to moderate and closer to the neutr…

Today, Wednesday, the GBP/JPY pair halted its pullback from 200.35, showing a solid intraday recovery from the weekly low recorded on Tuesday. The British pound continues to demonstrate relative strength against the Japanese yen, supported by the declining likelihood of an immediate rate cut by the Bank of England. At the same time, the yen is under pressure, as domestic political uncertainty in Japan temporarily complicates the normalization of the Bank of Japan's monetary policy. A generally positive market risk sentiment is also fueling growth in the GBP/JPY rate. However, persistent geopolitical risks and trade-related uncertainty may limit deeper weakening of the yen…

GoviEx Uranium (TSXV: GXU) and the Niger government have agreed to extend a break in international arbitration over their Madaouela project clash by another six months. While the two sides are willing to find a solution, the extension doesn’t guarantee the talks will lead to a definitive agreement, GoviEx said in a release on Thursday. If a resolution can’t be reached during the extended period, arbitration proceedings under the Washington-based International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) might continue. The dispute is rooted in Niger’s military government revoking GoviEx’s permit for Madaouela in July last year after it failed to meet mine …

A loose but growing push is under way in the XRP community to build what some people call an “XRP firewall” — a set of tools and checks meant to block scams on the XRPL. Vet, one of the dUNL validators on the XRP Ledger, has hinted at a big update that could change the fight against scams on XRPL. The feature, known as the XLS-86 Firewall, is still in development but is being described as a possible endgame for fraudsters. In a recent post, Vet said the amendment would act as a safeguard to stop losses of XRP, tokens, and NFTs when activated. If approved and rolled out, it could give users a much stronger line of defense against common traps that have cost the commun…

Should I continue investing aggressively if I won’t spend all my wealth? Many retirees with substantial savings face an unusual choice. If you know you will never spend all your wealth, should you keep investing aggressively in retirement, shift toward balance, or focus on preservation? The best answer depends on your goals, your tolerance for risk, and the legacy you want to leave. Executive Summary Investing aggressively in retirement can grow wealth for heirs or charities, but it also brings volatility. On the other hand, a conservative approach offers stability yet limits growth. A balanced strategy—covering essential expenses with safe assets and letting the rest co…

Brazil’s federal prosecutors have asked the country’s mining regulator to suspend lithium projects in Minas Gerais, citing inadequate consultation with local communities and environmental risks. The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) requested that the National Mining Agency (ANM) review exploration and extraction licences in Araçuaí and neighbouring municipalities in the Jequitinhonha Valley, the region that hosts most of Brazil’s lithium developments. The agency has 20 days to assess current permits and stop issuing new ones until proper consultations are carried out. Prosecutors said indigenous groups, quilombola (Afro-Brazilians descendants of slaves) communities a…

Dogecoin (DOGE) has staged a strong breakout after forming a double bottom near key support, surging past $0.26 and leaving earlier rejection zones behind. With the Bollinger Band width now hitting a historically bullish level, DOGE could be setting the stage for a major surge, targeting a price range between $0.41 and $0.97. Dogecoin Breaks Out After Double Bottom Formation In a recent post on X, BitGuru shared an analysis highlighting that DOGE has made a significant bullish move, breaking out from a classic double bottom chart pattern. This pattern formed near a key support level, signaling a potential reversal from a downtrend to an uptrend. By surging past the $0…

The U.S. dollar may face significant turbulence this week. President Donald Trump recently stated in an interview that he expects the Federal Reserve to deliver a larger rate cut this week. Pressure from the White House comes ahead of a pivotal meeting where central bank officials are expected to ease policy for the first time in nine months. "I think it's time to act big," Trump told reporters on Sunday. "The time has come for the next step." Beyond Trump's remarks, markets have already priced in the likelihood of a 25-basis-point cut, while some analysts do not rule out a more aggressive move. Federal funds futures indicate growing confidence in easing, which is puttin…

GBP/USD Brief analysis: Quotes of the British pound in the main pair continue the uptrend that started early this year. The unfinished corrective wave section (B) has been moving the price sideways for the past two months. Previously broken resistance has turned into support, along which quotes have formed a price channel. Weekly forecast: At the beginning of the upcoming week, sideways movement of the pound is expected, with a bearish vector toward calculated support. After that, the price may transition into a sideways range, followed by a reversal and renewed growth. The resistance zone shows the maximum expected range of growth. Potential reversal zones Resistance:…

GBP/USD Sterling rose 40 pips yesterday against the backdrop of a 0.37% decline in the dollar index. However, this rise occurred on below-average volumes, which only underlines the risks of such a move in the absence of large players. The target level of 1.3631 could be reached, but this would hardly change the signals of the Marlin oscillator, which is poised to reverse from the upper boundary of its own channel. A consolidation above 1.3631 would open the target at 1.3700 – the upper boundary of the global 18-year descending price channel. A reversal from this level is also expected. A return below 1.3525, which would also correspond to moving under the MACD line, woul…

On Monday, the EUR/USD pair continued its upward move, as I expected, and on Tuesday morning reached the target – the resistance zone at 1.1789–1.1802. A rebound from this zone would favor the U.S. dollar and a decline toward the 76.4% corrective level at 1.1695. Consolidation above this zone would increase the probability of continued growth toward the next Fibonacci level of 127.2% – 1.1896. The wave structure on the hourly chart remains simple and clear. The last completed upward wave broke the peak of the previous one, while the last downward wave did not break the prior low. Thus, the trend can now be considered bullish, although not the strongest or most confiden…

Multicoin Capital co-founder Kyle Samani believes Solana-native Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) have a structural advantage over Bitcoin-focused vehicles—and that the mechanics underpinning those DATs could become a durable, price-positive flywheel for SOL. Speaking on Blockworks’ Empire podcast days after Forward Industries closed a $1.65 billion PIPE led by Galaxy, Jump, and Multicoin, Samani argued that Solana’s yield, composable DeFi, and on-chain corporate operations create cash flows and optionality that Bitcoin simply can’t match. Why Solana DATs Beat Bitcoin “We’re building a new financial system from the ground up,” Samani said, framing Forward as both a proof-o…

Potash is finally getting a seat at the big table with lithium and rare earths. Once ignored, it’s now shaping debates not just in agriculture, but in trade policy and even security strategy. Strip it down to the basics: no potash, no bread, no rice, no corn. Recognizing it as critical is overdue — and it’s also a starting gun. From here on out, the conversation isn’t just about farming. It’s about food security as a pillar of national security. A quiet mineral steps into the spotlight August 2025. The U.S. Geological Survey finally said the quiet part out loud: potash belongs on the list of critical minerals. Farmers didn’t need a memo. They’ve always known potass…

The euro has posted sharp gains on Thursday. In the North American session, EUR/USD is trading at 1.1867, up 0.90% on the day. The euro has not been at these levels since September 2021. German investor confidence crushes estimateGerman ZEW Economic Sentiment rose modestly in September to 37.3, up from 34.7 in August. This blew past the market estimate of 26.3 and the euro has responded with sharp gains. The survey of financial experts indicates cautious optimism, with the outlook for the export sector showing promise after a prolonged decline. At the same time, the index monitoring the current economic situation worsened, declining to -76.4 from 68.6, below the market es…

The U.S. dollar initially lost ground against risk assets but quickly regained its position after Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech. Yesterday, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by a quarter point. At first, the euro and the pound reacted with gains, but without clear hints from Powell on further aggressive rate cuts this year, the dollar sharply rebounded. The market had expected a stronger signal confirming the Fed's readiness to ease monetary policy. The lack of firm commitments disappointed traders who had counted on more aggressive measures to stimulate the economy. Uncertainty about the Fed's next steps pushed investors toward the dollar, traditionally seen as a…

US indices are riding an intense wave of optimism following the Federal Reserve’s 25-bps rate cut, with the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones all pushing higher. (As I write this piece, some profit-taking might be into play, watch the daily highs for a further push). Nvidia (NVDA) sparked extra momentum after announcing it would acquire part of Intel’s (INTC) equity, sending Intel stock soaring over 25% in early session trading. Tech peers like CrowdStrike (CRWD) and Synopsys (SNPS) also extend gains, underscoring a broader sector rally. …

So, the Federal Reserve made a decision that was entirely expected and not at all surprising. The interest rate was lowered by 25 basis points, but this is precisely what the market anticipated. There were far more questions about the central bank's next moves amid a weakening labor market and rising inflation. But, as was easy to predict, there were no specifics from the Fed or from Jerome Powell himself. Powell's entire speech can be interpreted in any way you like. The Fed chair didn't say "no" to a 50 basis point cut by the end of the year, but he didn't announce one either. The dot plot showed a slightly more "dovish" mood for the coming year, but only marginally so.…

On Friday, the Canadian dollar is gaining against the US dollar, with the USD/CAD pair halting its two-day advance and paring earlier intraday losses, despite a stronger US dollar and weaker retail sales data in Canada. At the time of writing, the pair is trading at 1.3772, pulling back from the day's high of 1.3825, as buyers failed to hold above the psychological 1.3800 level. The US Dollar Index, which measures the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, continues to rebound after the Fed's decision, trying to stay near its daily high, last seen six days ago. According to Statistics Canada, retail sales fell by 0.8% in July compared with the previous month, in…

XRP grabbed fresh attention after two well-known chart analysts outlined bullish setups that could push the token much higher if the current momentum holds. According to Javon Marks and Ali Martinez, technical signs are lining up for a possible strong move, but traders are watching whether key resistance levels give way. Analysts See Breakout Potential Trader Javon Marks posted a chart showing what he called a large accumulation pattern. Based on his view, XRP could climb by 226% to reach $9.90, and if that zone is cleared the path to $20 could open. Marks compared today’s price structure to prior long swings that led to sharp gains after extended sideways peri…

The European Central Bank (ECB) officials have taken a wait-and-see approach and are eagerly anticipating the next release of their economic forecasts. It is quite possible that these new forecasts will help determine whether interest rates are sufficiently low to ensure a stable 2% inflation rate. Policymakers speaking on the sidelines of the European financial leaders' meeting in Copenhagen last week were confident that a deposit rate of 2% is currently appropriate to achieve this goal. However, opinions were divided over the severity of risks affecting the outlook for further inflation growth. President Christine Lagarde stated that the ECB has achieved its goal of cu…
