Despite rising global tensions and a joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which appears to have fallen short, Bitcoin’s price is holding strong. After briefly dipping to $98,000 over the weekend amid fears of all-out war, BTC has bounced back and is now trading at $107,000. Even violations of the ceasefire by Israel and Iran haven’t shaken its price action. Between conflicting reports about the success of the strikes and a fragile ceasefire in place, the natural question is: what’s next for BTC? Geopolitical Crises and Market Psychology Israel-Iran War: What Markets Should Fear the Most One common trait of geopolitical or financial crises is that markets tend to price in worst-case scenarios in the early stages. As events evolve, investors begin to reassess the true scale of the threat. It can take days, weeks, or even months before financial markets find a bottom. But typically, once the worst-case scenario is factored in, the impact of ongoing news diminishes. However, not all situations allow for such clarity. The unfolding Israel-Iran conflict presents one such case, where both geopolitical instability and economic risks are at play, making it especially …

An unexpected peace in the Middle East created waves in the crypto market on 24th June, 2025. Iran and Israel agreed to cease hostilities, and US President Donald Trump termed it a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE.” The traders had waited days with their hearts in their mouths as missiles soared and oil anxiety mounted. Then peace talks took hold, and digital-asset markets responded almost as quickly as the news broke. Bitcoin Breaks Through Key Level According to reports, Bitcoin leapt more than 5% within minutes of the ceasefire announcement. It shot past $106,000 before settling just above $105,000. That’s a sharp rebound after prices dipped below $99,000 at the hei…

Overview: Israel attacked Iranian nuclear enrichment site and apparently targeted scientists and top Revolutionary Guard leadership. Reports suggest that that no increase in radioactivity has been detected. The US quickly indicated that while it was informed of the attack, it did not authorize it. President Trump did warn of a possible strike, but the press reports made it seem as if a strike was not imminent. The dollar is stronger against all the G10 currencies and most emerging market currencies; However, the gains have been limited, and some will question the dollar's safe haven status. Equities are heavier, with most European bourses off 1.0-1.5%, while US index futu…

One week into the Israeli-Iranian war, cyberattacks have officially entered the battlefield. Israeli hackers, a group known as Predatory Sparrow, has claimed responsibility for a $90 million crypto heist from Iran’s largest digital asset platform, Nobitex. The message is political: don’t mess with Israel. The funds were sent to burn addresses, wallets that no one can access, making them permanently unrecoverable. In the 21st century, crypto cyberattacks are now part of warfare strategy. The attack targeted wallets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to blockchain analysts and intelligence sources, the israeli hackers siphoned more than $9…

Crypto pundit XRP Avengers has declared that XRP can’t hit $1,000, a price level that has been discussed among community members. The pundit explained why he holds this belief, alluding to the altcoin’s market cap. Why XRP Cannot Hit $1,000 In an X post, the crypto pundit said that XRP cannot hit $1,000 based on the market cap. He noted that if the altcoin were to hit $1,000, which is impossible, its market cap would be 100 trillion, which is like 10 times the global GDP. XRP Avengers added that $10 is the max price that the altcoin can reach and that it would take ages for that to happen and require banks to almost solely use it for transactions. In line with this, …

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) says it is moving onto the second phase of its Kamoa-Kakula dewatering plan after four new high-capacity, submersible pumps arrived on site and are undergoing installation. Operations at Kamoa-Kakula, the largest copper producer in Africa, were disrupted earlier this year after seismic activity caused severe flooding of the underground mine, particularly the eastern section. Mining activities were halted for approximately three weeks following the May 18 incident. In an effort to gradually restore mining operations at Kamo-Kakula, Ivanhoe, as the operator, proceeded with a three-staged dewatering plan. The first stage, which was to stabili…

Ivanhoe Atlantic has completed the necessary environmental and social impact studies (ESIA) for its Kon Kweni iron ore project in Guinea and submitted permit applications to begin construction early next year. The ESIA submissions, says the US-based mining company, take the Kon Kweni project closer to construction, which it aims to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Alongside Guinea, an application was also submitted to relevant authorities in neighboring Liberia, where a rail infrastructure to export the iron ore would be built. Ivanhoe Atlantic’s president and CEO Bronwyn Barnes hailed the ESIA completion and submission as “a significant milestone” for the comp…

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) says it has begun the second stage of its Kakula mine dewatering plan, but will delay its copper production guidance for the next two years until that has advanced. Three out of the four Stage 2 high-capacity, submersible pumps were recently installed and commissioned on schedule, the company said in a press release, adding that the underground water level in the Kakula mine has since dropped by about 10 metres out of a possible 80 metres. The Vancouver-based miner also said it expects all four pumps to start operating in the coming days at a combined pumping rate of approximately 2,600 litres per second. At that point, it will reposition …

Executive chairman Robert Friedland said the credit approvals from this group of “top-tier mining financiers” are a clear vote of confidence in the Santa Cruz project, which he envisions as one …

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) produced 71,226 tonnes of copper and a record 57,200 tonnes of zinc in the third quarter from its flagship Kamoa-Kakula and Kipushi mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the company said on Tuesday. Year to date, copper production totals 316,393 tonnes, with full-year guidance maintained at 370,000 to 420,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate. The company said mining is shifting to higher-grade zones in Kakula’s western section. Zinc production at Kipushi surged 37% quarter-on-quarter, driven by a program to remove processing bottlenecks and boost throughput. The improvement positions the mine among the world’s top zinc producers, Ivanh…

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) says the debottlenecking program at its Kipushi zinc mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo was recently completed both ahead of schedule and under budget, placing it on track to achieve its production guidance for the remaining of 2025. Kipushi, a joint venture between Ivanhoe (62%) and Congo’s state-owned miner Gécamines (38%), is the world’s highest-grade zinc mine. It first went into production over a century ago, until operations were placed on care and maintenance during the 1990s. The JV brought the mine back into production in June 2024, targeting 278,000 tonnes of production over its first five years. To achieve this target, it …

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) announced on Thursday that it has made a copper discovery at its exploration joint venture in Kazakhstan’s Chu-Sarysu Basin, warranting further follow-up. The Canadian miner, alongside UK-based partner Pallas Resources, is exploring a prospective land package of over 16,000 km², covering licences spread across seven projects. The landholding, according to Ivanhoe, represents one of the largest in Kazakhstan and is estimated to be seven times bigger than its Western Forelands project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The new copper discovery resulted from the joint venture’s fieldwork on the Merke licence, which is located in the sou…

On Nov. 21, the Canadian miner officially fired up its 500,000-tonne-per-annum copper smelter at Kamoa-Kakula. This was accompanied by an opening ceremony on the site, attended by the Chief of local communities and Ivanhoe founder Robert Friedland. “The ceremony today is not just a ritual; it is the passing of a torch representing transformative change at Kamoa-Kakula … From a site where we first discovered high-grade copper in 2008, we now harness a fire blessed by tradition to power a facility that…

Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) fell to a more than one-month low after reporting its financial results for the third quarter of 2025, which showed a decline in profit caused by disruptions at its flagship copper mine. For the three months, the Vancouver-based miner booked an after-tax profit of $31 million, which was less than a third of what it recorded in the same period last year ($108 million), and also $2 million lower than the second quarter. Its adjusted EBIDTA was also down from last year and the quarter before. The principal cause of the decline was the seismic activity in May and subsequent flooding that disrupted production at its Kamoa-Kakula copper complex …
