Bitcoin has retreated from last week’s record high above $124,000, slipping by over 8% in recent days. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency trades around $113,867, reflecting a 6.3% decline over the past seven days. The correction has raised questions about the forces driving current market dynamics, particularly the role of large holders in shaping price momentum. On-chain data has pointed to a consistent pattern of selling activity from whales on Binance, the world’s largest exchange by trading volume. According to CryptoQuant contributor Arab Chain, these movements appear to be deliberate, with whales strategically distributing holdings near resistance levels. …

Asia’s wealthy are ramping up crypto allocations as trading surges and regulation matures worldwide. Is this uptick among Asian investors driven by strong market performance, expanding institutional access, or the regulatory environment in key markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US? A 21 August 2025 Reuters report states, “Wealth managers said they are receiving more enquiries, cryptocurrency exchanges have seen trading volumes surge and crypto funds are in huge demand as high-net-worth Asian investors seek more exposure.” In fact, Swiss bank UBS recently saw overseas Chinese family offices planning to raise their crypto exposure to around 5% of their portfoli…

The Market is going wild from Powell's speech, interpreted as largely dovish! In case you missed it, you can access the text and a review of his live speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium on this page: Access Jerome Powell's full speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium Jerome Powell just concluded his nuch-anticipated speech at the Jackson Hole economic conference and the reactions are strong. Holding a very nuanced approach, as we're used to from Powell, Markets still interpreted some of his wording as a slightly dovish opening. These lines on employment are a good example: "Overall, while the labor market appears to be in balance, it is a curious kind of …

The Asian crypto landscape is in constant motion, especially with the recent downturn that BTC and ETH experienced. Amidst all this, massive regulatory changes are underway in the Asian crypto sector. Here is what transpired. India’s Crypto Tax Talks Add Momentum To Asian Crypto Policy Reforms The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), India’s direct tax authority, has reportedly consulted domestic crypto platforms regarding its current virtual digital asset (VDA) framework, according to a local report published on 18 August 2025. Industry insiders revealed that the CBDT questioned the effectiveness of the current taxation system on crypto and sought input on whether th…

Ethereum has achieved a new milestone by surpassing its previous all-time high set in 2021, climbing above $4,900 before a slight correction. At the time of writing, ETH trades around $4,655, representing an 8.2% gain over the past week. This rally comes after three years of consolidation below its former peak, marking a significant moment for the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Unsurprisingly, Ethereum’s upward momentum has also shifted market sentiment, placing most ETH holders back in profit. The latest movement has been tied not only to retail activity but also to growing institutional participation. Analysts argue that this demand could be a…

XRP has struggled to maintain its momentum in recent weeks, with the token slipping nearly 10% over the past month. At the time of writing, XRP is trading around $2.96, as the broader market shows mixed signals. While assets such as Ethereum continue to post upward moves, establishing a new high, XRP has instead faced consistent correction, leading market participants to closely monitor whether the trend could extend further or stabilize in the near term. A CryptoQuant analyst has noted that XRP’s current price action comes after an early-2025 rally that saw the token reach the $3.5 to $4 range. That surge was accompanied by a spike in inflows to exchanges, particularly…

The US Dollar has been in a weird trading zone since the contradicting NFP report from the beginning of the month (forcing a dovish hand) and the strong PPI report that has shown the appearance of tariff effects (forcing a hawkish hand). Since, the odds for a September cut have held tight, despite regressing slightly (was up to 97% before the PPI report but re-corrected back to around 87% currently). The confusion stands from a FED Chair having changed his tone at his Jackson Hole speech last Friday, which tends to be considered a pre-emptive sign of a cut approaching sooner than later. However, Market reactions may have been exaggerated for the little advances he ment…

Kyrgyzstan has begun underground gold production at Kumtor, one of Central Asia’s largest bullion mines, which officials say could contain up to 147 metric tonnes of reserves. President Sadyr Japarov nationalized the mine in 2021, taking it over from Canada’s Centerra Gold (TSX: CG) following years of litigation. The move ended with a settlement under which Centerra abandoned its claims and its subsidiary, Kumtor Gold Company, filed for bankruptcy. Kumtor was once Centerra’s biggest asset, accounting for more than half of its total output. Since nationalization, the mine has generated $3.4 billion for Kyrgyzstan, according to government figures. Japarov told l…

US Indices are rising but in an unassertive fashion, and the same has happened throughout the whole week. The dovish interpretation from last Friday's Powell speech definitely helped to sustain bullish momentum, with the S&P 500 timidly breaking new highs in yesterday's session and the Dow Jones breaking through its previous record (Current all-time highs at 45,757). However, it seems that Markets are awaiting for the most influential piece of data, releasing on the 5th of September – The infamous Non-Farm Payrolls report. This week's undecisive trading is typical of a last week of August due to many participants being off their screens and not much key data to kee…

American Bitcoin, partially owned by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr, targets a September public debut on the Nasdaq, according to Hut 8 CEO, Asher Genoot. The announcement came from an interview with Reuters during the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, with Genoot stating that Hut 8, Eric, and his brother Donald will own 98% of the entity. The new company will retain the name of American Bitcoin and trade with the ticker ABTC. According to Genoot, the Trump brothers found it more advantageous to create and list the company, rather than go for a public IPO, which would give it access to multiple financial avenues anyway. A September listing for American Bitcoin woul…

Coinbase is pushing back hard against the SEC. The milestone took place on Sept. 11, the Quebec-based gold miner said in a release. The Sleeping Giant site is located in the Eeyou Istchee region, within the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt. Pascal Hamelin, president and CEO of Abcourt, said this successful gold pour is “just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting chapter” for the company, which holds about a dozen other gold properties in the region. In a separate release from earlier this week, he said the next phase in the project w…

The dollar traded choppily last week but settled higher against all the G10 currencies. It finished the week on a firm note. The messy upside correction for the dollar may continue. Despite disappointing retail sales and manufacturing output, and softer than expected CPI and PPI, the market has pushed the next Fed cut into Q4 from Q3. Most of the other G10 central banks will likely (again) cut before the Federal Reserve. Halfway through the quarter, the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow Tracker has Q2 growth at 2.4%, which if accurate, would probably be the best in the G10. Still the 90-day reduction of US (and Chinese) punitive tariffs has seen shipment orders surge, and imports, wit…

The Greenback has recovered some of its Sunday open losses, as the DXY touched a low of 98.65. The Dollar has rallied well in the past two sessions as Memorial Day gave strength to the USD. A contributor to this USD strength have been recent comments from Japan's Mister of Finance announcing that they would supply less JGB's - the buying of the latter weakened the JPY and some rebalancing towards US Assets. The Dollar is coming off a rough week after Friday, 16th May, Moody’s Credit Rating Downgrade led to some broad USD selling, which led to Bitcoin consolidating above prior all-time highs and Gold making a comeback towards $3,300. The Canadian Dollar on the other ha…

Glencore (LON: GLEN) has transferred almost $22 billion in foreign assets into its Australian subsidiary in a sweeping global restructure, laying the groundwork for a future mega-merger with a rival mining heavyweight. The move, disclosed by the Australian Financial Review, means the total assets held by Glencore’s Australian entity have doubled to $42 billion. The shift required $3.8 billion in internal cash transfers and $614 million in intra-company share issuances to facilitate the asset migration. The restructure consolidates coal mines in Canada, South Africa and Colombia, a major copper project in Argentina, and South African manganese, chrome and vanadium …

XRP crypto is stuck in a standoff that might see it fall to $2. The charts are flashing warnings while long-term holders dig in around key support zones. Legal overhang, mixed market signals, and a fragile macro backdrop have traders on edge, waiting to see which way this thing breaks. (XRPTUSDT) XRP Crypto Slips with Bearish Indicators in Focus XRP slid nearly 1% on Monday, trading at $2.1540 and drawing attention to its long-held $1.76 support. The technicals aren’t friendly—RSI is trending lower at 39, and the MACD is bleeding red below the neutral line. A continued slide could force an 18% drop back to that key level. Still, the $2 zone isn’t giving up easily. Wee…

Call it the world’s weirdest breakup: Elon and Trump. So why is crypto crashing? This is the reason why. The love fest between the two men could be over. They were fighting the entire time, but it finally hit a breaking point. Both egos are too big. Knives are out and coins like Solana and Ethereum are wobbling but not spiraling. It’s bad, not catastrophic. (X) DISCOVER: 20+ Next Crypto to Explode in 2025 Why is Crypto Crashing? Ethereum Price Struggles to Break $2,820 We are in the funniest clown-like timeline. Ethereum has pulled back roughly 14% since the last week of May, but it’s holding firm above the critical $2,400 support zone. Despite recent volatility across the crypto market, ETH’s ability to defend this level has kept hopes alive for a potential recovery. Analysts are closely watching Ethereum’s next move, as the asset still trades well below its yearly highs, offering room for upside if momentum returns. Since the start of the year, Ethereum has faced steep declines and inconsistent follow-through on bullish setups. However, many believe ETH is now positioned to recover lost ground — if bulls can reclaim the $2,800 resistance and flip it into support. A breakout a…
