Ethereum (ETH), or as the crypto natives call it, the altcoin king, has a lot going for it, making its future price prediction fairly linear, and BlackRock Ex-CEO Joseph Chalom seems to agree.

In a recent interview, Chalom said, “Ethereum has the majority of stablecoins, tokenized assets, and high-quality smart contract activity. If you’re going to digitize finance, you need a chain institutions can trust — and it’s Ethereum.”

Now, as SharpLink’s Co-CEO, Chalom has put the money where his mouth is. The company owns over $3 Bn in ETH, and nearly all of it is staked.

Moreover, with partnerships in play with Consensys, Linea, and EigenLayer, the company is exploring “Restaking,” which is basically earning more yield while keeping its ETH safe with custodians.

Chalom does not think of ETH as a speculative tech. Instead, he sees it as the base for the next wave of digital finance to jump off of. “Over time,” he said, “we won’t call it DeFi or TradFi. We’ll just call it finance. And Ethereum will be the infrastructure underneath.”

SharpLink is one of the many DAT (Digital Asset Treasury) companies holding a large amount of ETH. But according to Chalom, most of these companies won’t be able to grow successfully. He believes that without enough trading activity, solid financials, and in-house teams to manage staking and investments, many of them will fall short.

ETH Trading Below Key EMAs, Closing Above $3,450 Will Flip The Trend

ETH’s price action is under pressure. On the daily chart, it is still trading below the 20-day and the 50-day exponential moving averages (EMA), meaning that buyers are not in control at the moment.

Currently trading at , its relative strength index (RSI) is low at 46, but it hasn’t bounced yet, signaling that demand is weak but not exhausted.

ETH has support around $3,200, where buyers step in. Resistance is near $3,550, where sellers have previously pushed the price down. If ETH stays above $3,200, it could stabilize or recover slightly.

However, if it falls below that, it might slide further towards $3,000. ,

Zooming in on the 4-hour chart, short-term signals show bearish control. Its price action has been rejected near $3,450, confirming that sellers are active at this level.

With support holding between $3,190 and $3,250, the Bollinger bands are tightening, indicating a bigger move on the horizon. To flip the trend, ETH has to break convincingly above $3,450.

Ethereum Price Prediction: Is $5k Outlook Still On?

ETH’s long-term price outlook depends on many factors, including the performance of the overall crypto market, adoption by institutions, network upgrades to ETH, etc.

If demand picks up and ETH Layer-2 solutions make it faster and cheaper to use, ETH could realistically climb to $5,000-$7,000 in the next bull cycle. Moreover, if institutional interest grows and ETH keeps its lead as the top smart contracts platform, it might even break past $10,000 over time.
